What is SKIM KESELAMATAN SOSIAL PEKERJAAN SENDIRI (SKSPS)?
- This scheme provides protection to self-employed insured persons against self-employment injury including occupational diseases and accidents during work-related activities. Refer to attachment for more information.
Who is eligible to contribute under SKSPS?
- Malaysian citizen / Permanent resident (without age limit)
- Self-employed individuals who work for themselves to earn a living
- Not receiving SOCSO contributions by any other employer
How do I apply for SKSPS?
- Applications and payments in person can be made at the nearest SOCSO office or via Matrix Portal.

I have applied for SKSPS, but I was informed that I'm not eligible. What should I do?
- If you are eligible but believe to have been wrongly rejected, please contact PERKESO directly at 1-300-22-8000.

PAYMENT FAQ
How much do I have to pay to be covered under the SKSPS scheme?
- The government has announced a subsidy of 80% of the contribution for Plan 2 (RM232.80 per annum), hence qualified gig worker only needs to pay RM46.60 (remaining 20% of the contribution) for a 1 year protection period starts from the date and time the contribution is paid and recognised on the contribution payment receipt.
- The government subsidy program has ended on 31 December 2022.
(RM46.60/365 days = only RM0.13 per day!)
Do I have to pay RM46.60 in full?
- Yes, you will have to make the full payment of RM46.60 to be eligible for SKSPS coverage period of one year.
How do I make payment for SKSPS?
- Payment for SKSPS can be made by cash at all SOCSO offices or through Matrix Portal.
Is the contribution paid refundable?
- The contribution is non-refundable in accordance with section 11 (3) of Act 789.
CLAIMS FAQ
How to claim the benefits provided and what documents do I need?
- A benefit claim can be made by filling in Form PS2.
- The PS2 form then needs to be submitted to the nearest SOCSO office together with relevant documents such as:
- Identity card (kad pengenalan)
- Original sick leave certificate
- Police report
COVERAGE FAQ
I'm interested. How do I sign up for SKSPS coverage?
- Click here to sign up for SKSPS coverage. Contribution to the SKSPS scheme for jobs within sector G - Goods and Foods Transportation (Pengangkutan barangan dan makanan) has been made mandatory in accordance with section 11 (1) of Act 789.
Will this cover all GoGet jobs that I claim on GoGetter app?
- SKSPS protection coverage is based on the sectors.
- If you purchase SKSPS under Goods and Foods Transportation sector, the scheme will only cover jobs within that specific sector.
- This means only dispatch, food & shopping and cheque deposit job type on GoGetter app will be covered.
Will this cover other jobs that I do in other apps e.g. Lalamove or Grab jobs etc.?

When will the SKSPS coverage start?
- Your coverage is confirmed upon receiving official receipt & coverage plan from PERKESO sent to you via email.
How do I know my SKSPS coverage is confirmed?
- You can check your registration and contributions via Self -Employment Verification on Matrix System
- Application/contribution can also be verified through walk in at 54 SOCSO office throughout the country.
- You may also communicate directly with SOCSO at 1300-22-8000.
- Those who successfully participate in this initiative will receive confirmation email from SOCSO.
- Refer to attachment for steps to set up your online account.
What is the difference between Senang Insurance & SKSPS?

I'm currently contributing and covered under SKSPS. I would like to purchase SKSPS coverage via GoGet. What do I need to do?
