This article provides answers to common questions about PERKESO contributions, coverage, benefit claims, dependants' benefits, contribution plans, and other key information related to the Self-Employment Social Security Scheme (SKSPS).
1. Does this apply to me?
If you are a Malaysian citizen earning income through a digital platform (such as a ride-hailing, delivery, or freelance service app), contributions are mandatory under the Self-Employment Social Security Scheme (SKSPS).
2. Do I need to sign up or do anything?
No. GoGet will handle your registration and contribution deductions automatically. You don't need to fill in any forms or visit any office to get started. All you need to do is download the PRIHATIN app.
3. How much will be deducted from my earnings?
1.25% will be deducted from the base pay of each completed job. These deductions accumulate in your platform wallet until they cover your annual contribution amount. The default plan (Plan 1) costs RM157.20 per year, which works out to roughly RM13.10 per month.
4. Why haven't I received payment for my completed jobs?
If your PERKESO registration is still being verified by PERKESO, payments for completed jobs may be temporarily held and displayed as "Processing".
Once your registration has been successfully verified, your job payment will be processed and credited to your wallet. Any applicable PERKESO contribution deductions will be shown in the corresponding transaction statement.
5. When am I protected?
Your coverage starts from the moment you accept your first job! There's no waiting period. You're protected right away, even if your deductions haven't hit the full monthly amount yet.
6. What if my job earnings aren't enough to cover my contribution?
If your accumulated deductions fall short of the annual contribution amount, you will only be required to top up the difference if you make a claim for benefits under the scheme. In such cases, PERKESO will notify you of the outstanding amount. You can make the top-up payment through the PRIHATIN portal, the PRIHATIN app, or by visiting your nearest PERKESO office.
7. What if I work on other platforms too?
Gig workers can register and carry out jobs across multiple platform providers. All deductions made by each platform will be consolidated into the gig worker's account (wallet) which you can check through your PRIHATIN app.
8. How do I check my current PERKESO contributions?
While GoGet displays your basic registration status, we do not display your full contribution history. Please use the official PRIHATIN app by PERKESO to check your detailed contribution history, current plan, and to make top-ups.
9. What happens if I recently bought Senang Insurance?
If you have been issued a policy, your policy remains active until the end of the purchased coverage period, provided you start a job before June 30, 2026, at 23:59.
